Music

We love to praise the Lord with music and song here at Trinity Apostolic Faith Church.

In addition to piano and organ, our congregational singing is accompanied by our 20 piece orchestra: we have stringed instruments, woodwinds, brass, and rhythm sections.

Sunday services begin as the congregation gathers to music played on the organ or keyboard. This is followed by a musical prelude played by one (or more) of our talented vocalists or instrumentalists. We then have congregational singing - hymns or more contemporary worship songs. On Sunday mornings between the children's message, scripture lesson and sermon, we listen as vocal groups or soloists praise the Lord in song. In Sunday evening services when people praise the Lord with testimonies of what God has done, we have more congregational singing as well as special musical numbers interspersed between the testimonies.

Our orchestra enjoys playing special musical arrangements monthly and for special occasions (combined meetings, Christmas, Easter).

In addition to the orchestra we have a brass ensemble, flute ensemble and various instrumental soloists and groups - they do our musical preludes. We have a 27-voice choir, 9-voice ensemble, ladies ensemble, male quartet as well as other quartets, trios, duets and soloists.

The kids and young people of our church are an important part of the music here. The young people lead the opening session of Sunday School, where we get to sing fun songs that get our arms and legs moving as well as exercise for our lungs and vocal chords. We have a young people's orchestra that often plays for Sunday School as well as our once-a-month Young People's meetings. Youth services feature our younger musicians who are learning musically as well as some more contemporary styles of music. The young folks also take music to a local rescue mission once a month.

Music highlights our annual Heavenly Lights celebration held each December. The Singing Christmas Tree, where the kids from the very young up through high school sing their hearts out sings upbeat arrangements of Christmas carols. An adult vocal ensemble also joins in the festivities singing various styles and arrangements of Christmas music. Our brass ensemble (trumpets, trombones and saxaphones) plays at Heavenly Lights and we are reminded of the angels announcing Jesus' birth. We are fortunate to have a 3 octave set of English handbells that complete the musical highlights at Heavenly Lights. They also are played during Sunday services occasionally at other times during the year.

With the exception of perhaps some of the youngest children, all the musicians in our church are folks that have been born again and are living victoriously for the Lord. We are thankful to have music as a way to express our love and our praise to the Lord. Come and rejoice with us.
