Assistant Pastor: Lee Spakousky

Lee Spakousky, our Assistant Pastor was born and raised in Roseburg, Oregon. Though raised in a Christian environment, knowing about Christianity wasn't enough; he had to try it for himself. Lee was very successful in high school athletics, and especially loved football. When seeking the Lord for salvation, God asked Lee if he would give up football. On July 4th, 1971, Lee gave his all to the Lord. Asking His forgiveness God saved him and gave him such joy in his heart and fullness to his life. Although there was some persecution at home and from the community because of his consecration to give up football, God knew what Lee needed. He gave him a Christian girlfriend to encourage him, a job to supply his needs, and a great physician that heals.
Two and a half years after Lee took his stand to serve the Lord, God allowed him to marry the girlfriend who had encouraged him. On March 2nd, 1974, Barbara Olson became his wife. They have resided in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 33 years and have a son Christopher and a daughter Erika who are now both married and have given them two wonderful grandsons and one lovely granddaughter.
In addition to being the Assistant Pastor, Lee sings in the choir and teaches the Young Adult Sunday School Class. Lee certainly has a servants heart and an infectious love for people. When asked what excites him about the Gospel, he says, " It is the thrill of seeing the joy on others faces when God intervenes in their lives or when you stand still and feel Gods presence burn within your heart."
