Ron Schulmeister

Ronald Schulmeister is another member of the ministerial staff in our church. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1947. His parents faithfully brought him to the Apostolic Faith Church in Honolulu where he was first saved at 14 years of age. His service in the Navy brought him to California in 1966. After living away from the Lord and the Gospel for a time, he says that God finally had to take everything away from him to get his attention. In 1972, Ron gave up trying to live without God. He prayed through to salvation in the home of an Apostolic Faith Church family in San Francisco. He says that when he was born again, "God cleaned me up instantly."

His wife, Marja-Leena, was born in Finland. She was saved at the age of 16 through the witness of a school friend and found out about the Apostolic Faith Church through a church paper that her uncle found. When her family moved to San Francisco in 1967, Marja started attending the Apostolic Faith Church there. The Lord brought Ron and Marja together from opposite ends of the world and they were married on March 16, 1974. Ron and Marja have been blessed with four daughters, one son, one son-in-law and two grandchildren.

Around 1991, the Lord called Ron to the ministry and he has been preaching and teaching Sunday School ever since. Ron comments that although he tried many "crazy things" in his life, "the Gospel is the most thrilling thing in all the world." He says that he has never regretted serving the Lord and asserts that "there's nothing better!"
