San Francisco Mission Outreach
| The San Francisco Mission Outreach is one of the ways our church reaches out in compassion to the public with the message of hope and liberty that only Jesus can offer. Every second Saturday of the month, some members of the Richmond Trinity Apostolic Faith Church who have the experience of salvation and the love to reach out to others, have the opportunity to visit a mission in downtown San Francisco, located just off of 5th street. CitiTeam Ministries runs its outreach to the homeless and the suffering from a building owned by the Millard family who are members of our congregation. Mission services have been a part of the Apostolic Faith Church outreach for decades. The Apostolic Faith has had decades-long relationship with the Inner-city Mission, since our beloved Brother Rod Millard (late), a former minister of the our church in Richmond, purchased the building in San Francisco with the hopes of creating a place where the poor, hungry, and homeless could come not just for spiritual aid, but for comfort, warmth, and food. After his death, Brother Rod's family continued to supply the first and second floors of the to CitiTeam Ministries, which has been operating the mission for a number of years. Reverend Mark Staller, the pastor of The Apostolic Faith church in Tehachepi, California, who participated in the mission during the eighties recalls, "Participating in a mission service helped increase the sincerity of my commitment to God. The audience at the mission desperately needed spiritual help and encouragement, so there was rarely a time that I just went ‘through the motions' at these services. When I saw how appreciative some of the men and women were, I was glad I had a chance to participate in this outreach activity." Those accompanying the mission-group on their Saturday-afternoon trips to San Francisco have every opportunity to participate in the outreach of the mission, whether they wish to sing, play along with the worship, deliver a brief devotional, or even sing or pray with those who have come for the food, medical care, clothing, and even housing provided by CitiTeam Ministries. It is our earnest prayer that many will be drawn to God through our mission outreach.
